BERLIN — The city council Monday approved cost items for labor agreements with the city’s school teachers, bus drivers and custodians.

The negotiated three-year agreement with the Berlin Education Association, representing 103 teachers, calls for salary increases of half a percent in fiscal year 2020, 1.75 percent in fiscal year 2021, and 2 percent in fiscal year 2022. It also increases the stipend for extra curricular activities teachers take on, such as coaching. The total cost of the contract is $39,569 in fiscal year 2020, $139,386 in fiscal year 2021, and $162,247 in fiscal year 2022.
