BERLIN — House Bill 155, reducing the rate of the business enterprise tax, passed in a 189-165 vote on Jan. 8. Seven of the nine state representatives serving Coos County voted in favor of the legislation.

The bill was mentioned several days earlier during the city council’s Jan. 5 regular meeting. Berlin resident, retired attorney and businessman Theodore “Ted” Bosen spoke about the HB 155 during public comment.
