CARROLL — The body of a Massachusetts man, missing since April 16, was found Monday pinned under a large boulder in the Dry River. William Donovan, 65, of Cambridge is believed to have struck off alone to hike in the White Mountains.

An extensive search effort failed to find any sign of the missing man. But last weekend, some hikers found gear and a jacket in the Dry River that were believed to have belonged to Donovan.
