BERLIN — A former Washington D.C. man now living in Berlin's federal prison, pleaded guilty in federal court on July 30, to possession of a prohibited object in prison, United States Attorney Scott W. Murray announced.

According to court documents and statements made in court, on March 1, 2019, Derkwon Johnson was an inmate at the Federal Correctional Institute in Berlin when officers found a shank in his possession. The weapon was approximately 5.5 inches in length. Inmates are prohibited from possessing weapons in prison.
