PITTSBURG — On the afternoon of Saturday, Jan. 24, at approximately 1 p.m., Brandon Roe, 38, of Hanson, Mass., was operating his snowmobile on Primary Trail 146 in Pittsburg. Roe lost control of his snowmobile while negotiating a downhill left-hand turn. Roe was subsequently thrown from his machine over a steep embankment and sustained injuries in the crash.

Immediate aid was rendered by his riding companions and bystanders who came upon the crash. Due to poor cell service, a satellite personal locator beacon (PLB) was used to notify first responders. A riding companion also rode to a nearby business, where an additional 911 call was made and provided better details of the crash.
