Funeral Services for Richard L. "Red" Girard, 57, of Berlin, NH were held on June 17, 2014 at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish, following prayers at the Bryant Funeral Home. The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated by Reverend Andrew Nelson. The pall was placed by Jolene Girard, Corey Girard, Christopher Girard and C.T. Ware. The crucifix was placed by Jolene Girard, the readings were done by Brandi Ware and Dennis Murphy. The gifts were presented by John and Debra Morin, the cantor was Patti Berube and the Words of Remembrance were by Corey Girard, Christopher Girard and C.T. Ware. The funeral procession drove by the Berlin Fire Station, where the on duty firefighters stood at attention along side the apparatus in front of the station as the bell rang. The procession continued to Mt. Calvary Cemetery where Father Andrew read the committal prayers and the Last Alarm was given for Lt. Girard. The pall bearers who were all firefighters and retirees, included Paul E. Fortier, Richard Lapointe, Richard "Magoo" McCready, Steve Dion, Robert Goudreau, Skid Baillargeon, William Maddalena and Peter Donovan.
Many family members, friends, firefighters and first responders attended the services.
