WASHINGTON D.C. — Sen. Maggie Hassan recognized Erik Becker of Lancaster as August’s Granite Stater of the Month for his dedication to improving his community and for lending support to those in need.

Becker has taken on a variety of roles in his North Country community, including serving as the student assistance program xoordinator at Groveton High School — where Erik spends 15 hours a week during the summer at the school helping to distribute free lunches to kids in need, while also acting as a “big brother” for students who just need someone to talk to.
