JACKSON — Who were Saint Francis and Saint Clare of Assisi? What compelled a privileged young man to renounce wealth for a life of joyful simplicity? Why did a spirited teenage girl walk away from comfort and status to follow a new, daring path? And what does their 13th-century vision have to say to our world today?

The Whitney Community Center will host “Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Franciscans (But Were Afraid to Ask)” — a dynamic and interactive hour on Sunday, Dec. 7, from 4-5 p.m., exploring the lives, ministries and enduring legacies of Francis and Clare of Assisi.
