CONCORD — The New Hampshire House passed legislation enabling the state to offer comprehensive early-detection cancer screenings to nearly 4,000 professional firefighters.

Senate Bill 352, sponsored by Senator Carson of District 14, along with several co-sponsors, received widespread bipartisan support in both the Senate and the House, passing with committee votes of 5-0, 7-0, 20-0, and 25-0. SB 352 went on to receive a 24-0 vote on the Senate floor and a voice vote in the House. The legislation aims to offer firefighters access to a multi-cancer blood test, a diagnostic ultrasound and a lung CT. President Ryll of the Professional Fire Fighters of New Hampshire commended the legislature for supporting the bill.
