WILSONS MILLS, ME--Mrs. Clara (Kingman) Damon, 70, of 414 Wilsons Mills Road, Wilsons Mills, Maine, passed away on Wednesday, July 14, 2004 at the Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, Maine. She was born in New Bedford, MA, on June 20, 1934, the daughter of Metcalf and Helen Mae (Bruce) Kingman. She was a graduate of New Bedford High School with the Class of 1952 and furthered her education at Simmons College. She resided in Boston and Goshen, MA, before retiring to Wilsons Mills ...WILSONS MILLS, ME--Mrs. Clara (Kingman) Damon, 70, of 414 Wilsons Mills Road, Wilsons Mills, Maine, passed away on Wednesday, July 14, 2004 at the Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, Maine. She was born in New Bedford, MA, on June 20, 1934, the daughter of Metcalf and Helen Mae (Bruce) Kingman. She was a graduate of New Bedford High School with the Class of 1952 and furthered her education at Simmons College. She resided in Boston and Goshen, MA, before retiring to Wilsons Mills in 1993. She was a lab technician at Massachusetts General Hospital and the Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton. MA. She also worked as a librarian. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saint, the Aziscohos Grange in Wilsons Mills, the Wilsons Mills Fire Department and the Friends of the Errol Library. Her interests were traveling, family history, correspondence, cribbage, her camp on Azicohos Lake, reading, gourmet cooking family and friends and friends. She was an avid Red Sox fan.

Members of the family include two daughters, Betsey Hyde of Temple, ME and Katherine Skroski of Phippsburg, ME; step-children, Jared Damon of Otisfield, ME, Meredith Lawson of Hampden, ME, Carol Hammon of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Claudia Darneille of Porter, ME, Jonathan W. Damon of Mechanic Falls, ME and Keith R. Damon of Park City, Utah; 40 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one brother, Metcalf Kingman of Mattapoisett, MA; one niece, Nancy Greenhalgh of Putnam, CT; two nephews, Peter Greenhalgh of Nantucket, MA, and Bruce Greenhalgh of E. Sandwich, MA, and several cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Philip W. Damon, a sister, Ruth Greenhalgh, and brothe,r James Kingman.
