WHITEFIELD – The Colonel Town Players present “Shrek JR.” This high-energy musical proves heroes don’t always look like princesses — and happy endings come in all shapes and sizes.

Based on the DreamWorks film, “Shrek JR.,” follows a grumpy green ogre whose quiet life is turned upside down when a parade of fairy tale misfits invade his swamp. Teaming up with a wisecracking Donkey, Shrek sets off on an unexpected adventure to rescue Princess Fiona, face off with the comically villainous Lord Farquaad, and discover that true friendship — and love — are found when you embrace who you really are.
