GORHAM — The main events of Gorham’s annual five-day 4th of July Fourth Spectacular are today with two parades, live music, midway rides and other activities on the Gorham Town Common, and of course fireworks at 10 p.m. at the common. Today’s other highlights: The Kiddies Parade, sponsored by the Gorham American Legion Auxilliary and Sons of the American Legion, starts at 11 a.m. and registration must be done ahead of time from 10-10:45 a.m. at the Ed Fenn school. Millers Amusements Carnival opens at noon, with afternoon bracelets 12-5 p.m. and evening bracelets, 5-11 p.m., all you can ride for $25. At 2 p.m., the main parade begins, starting at Dublin Street, down Route 16 and continuing to Railroad Street. From 2-4 p.m., dance to DJ music at the bandstand, featuring Mountain Music. From 7-10 p.m., Cantrip will give the concert. Events continue through Sunday, July 7. The midway is open from noon-10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and noon-5 p.m. on Sunday, as well as concerts Saturday and Sunday from 6:30-830 p.m. Friday, July 5, the concert is LA Harley Band. Saturday, July 6, Jeremy Dean will take the stage. Also on Saturday, there will be additional family entertainment on the common: At 2 and 4 p.m., Meet live animals with the Wildlife Encounters Outreach Program. At 6:30 p.m. “Lollipop the Clown” will be there. The celebration wraps up Sunday, July 7, with the classic car parade a 11:30 a.m., followed by a classic car show on the common at noon. From noon-2 p.m., Lollipop the Clown will make another appearance and there will be music at the bandstand by Mountain Music. Gorham voters again this year approved $10,000 to support the 4th of July Committee with the cost of fireworks. This year, the Gorham 4th of July Committee members are: Nathan Corrigan, general chairman; Wallace Corrigan Sr., assistant chairman; Linda Dupont, treasurer, Janet Corrigan, secretary; Nathan Corrigan, Janet Corrigan, Jodie Gagnon, Chris Gilman, program; Jeff Stewart, entertainment booking; Wallace Corrigan Sr., Wallace Corrigan Jr., David Griffin, Alison Bernier, parade organizers; Amanda Corrigan, kiddie’s parade; Jeff Stewart, sidewalk vendors; Paul Robitaille, Jodie Gagnon, photographers; Adam Marsh, Gorham police chief.
