If Aliens landed, would we care?

Hey folks. Let’s end 2017 by ignoring our woes on Earth and contemplating the cosmos.  

Could the prospect of intelligent life elsewhere in the universe distract us from our terrestrial anxieties? After a year of witnessing a dangerously inept real estate developer and reality television host sworn into the Presidency, various mass shootings, neo-Nazis marching into the mainstream, and the effects of climate change wreaking havoc on communities around the world, would Americans even care if aliens landed?

If there is life out there in the vast universe, it's likely carbon-based.

Perhaps the bigger mystery, is why in the age of high definition surveillance cameras and smart phones, we don't have any clear (and legit photos_ of alien spacecraft, like this Photoshopped image.

According to a survey put out by 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment, half of Americans believe in aliens, but only 20 percent of them believe in alien abduction stories.

This guy believes in aliens. In fact, many politicians like Harry Reid here have admitted to knowing details about extraterrestrials or UFOs including: JFK, Dwight D. Eisenhower,Kirsan Ilyumzhinov a Russian Parliament member, Dennis Kucinich and John Podesta.
