SARGENT’S PURCHASE — Cameron Cogburn earned his spot in the record books on Aug. 18 when he became the third man to win the Mt. Washington Auto Road Bicycle Hillclimb four times. While Cogburn conquered the “Beast of the East” finishing more than five minutes ahead of the field in 52 minutes, one second, it was also a record-setting day for Kristen Kulchinsky, who broke the course record for the women.

Kulchinsky, 43, of Long Island, N.Y., shattered the previous course record by more than three minutes in her first Mount Washington race, crossing the finish line in 1:06:08. It was the 19th fastest time overall. She rode at an 8:43 per mile pace.
