ANDROSCOGGIN VALLEY — It has been a year since “A Supporting A Survivor’s Journey” formed, and in that year, co-founder Sandy Lemire said the group has helped 55 cancer patients with travel expenses.

The group formed to bring survivors together to share experiences while raising money to help those still fighting the disease. The group raises money to help cancer patients with expenses incurred traveling for treatments. Lemire noted that cancer patients frequently have to travel distances including to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon and St. Johnsbury, Vt., for treatments.
