RANDOLPH — Former Massachusetts Gov. Bill Weld, who is challenging President Donald Trump for the Republican nomination in the 2020 primaries, brought his campaign early Sunday morning, July 21, to this small town that is home to the largest community forest east of the Mississippi River. He and a small group of birders and hikers, including his wife Leslie Marshall, took a 3/4-mile bird walk on an interpretive trail on the edge of the 10,000-plus-acre Randolph Community Forest on Randolph Hill.
Attorney Sheridan Brown of Grantham, who played a lead role in setting up “Primary Feathers: Retail Politics … with Binoculars” (primaryfeathers.org), set up the event, also staffed by three Weld volunteers from downstate.
