More shoreline, rocks and other river debris are exposed as drought conditions continue, seen here near the Swift River Covered Bridge in Conway on Aug. 25. (RACHEL SHARPLES PHOTO)

CONWAY — Fire danger has been high and tubing has been slow this month as August has dragged on without much rain to speak of. However, due to plentiful groundwater, wells aren’t running dry in the Mount Washington Valley.

Most of New Hampshire including all of Carroll, Coos and Grafton counties are in a moderate drought.
