BERLIN — Plans to develop a health and wellness center in downtown Berlin have been put on hold after the estimated $9 million price tag made the project unfeasible.

Working with a group of partners, AHEAD proposed to demolish the vacant building at 121 Main St. and replace it with two-story 39,900-square-foot building that would become a health and wellness center. The building, which formerly housed a Woolworth store as well as Family Dollar, fell into city ownership through tax deed.
