LANCASTER – Tri-County Community Action Program continues to work on financing for the Notre Dame senior housing project in Berlin.

Last week, the Coos County Commissioners held a public hearing on a $500,000 Community Development Block Grant for the project. The commission has agreed to seek the grant, which would provide $475,000 to help convert the former high school building into 33 housing units for low and moderate income seniors. CAP Economic Development and Housing Director Max Makaitis said the units would be senior supported housing with local health and home care agencies providing services.
