NASHUA – The state has a new 1,308-acre Wildlife Management Area in Marlow and Alstead named for the late Ted Walski, an iconic wildlife biologist who was responsible for the reintroduction of wild turkeys to New Hampshire.

The state’s Executive Council voted Wednesday to approve the Fish and Game Department request to create the new wildlife area using $1.6 million in federal funds. The action was taken at the council’s meeting at Nashua Community College.
