BERLIN — The service of choral evensong will be sung on Sunday afternoon, Nov. 4, at 5 p.m., at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Berlin, in collaboration with Music in the Great North Woods.

Area singers under the direction of Susan Ferre will sing anthems by Peter Hallock, Walford Davies and Thomas Morley. In addition, the words of evening prayer will be sung, using traditional Anglican chant. This style of chant has been used continuously for over 500 years. "It encourages a deep listening, an inner quiet and a liberating engaging of the senses," said board advisor Michie Akin.
