BERLIN — A choral evensong will be offered on Palm Sunday, April 14, at 4 p.m. at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church. The singing of Renaissance Motets by Gibbons, Farrant and Palestrina, as well as Psalms by Hallock, chanted prayers and hymns for the special day, which begins the commemoration of Jesus' last days, offers a time for meditation, reflection and an opportunity to experience the power of Holy Week in preparation for Easter.
The Compline Choir is a community group of singers supported by St. Barnabas Church and Music in the Great North Woods. The non-profit organization is devoted to enriching the musical culture of the North Country. The event is open to all, free of charge. St. Barnabas Episcopal Church is located at 2 High St., in Berlin. For more information call (603) 466-2865 or go to musicgnw.org.
