"Over the River and Through the Woods," which opened at M&D Productions' Your Theatre in North Conway Thursday, July 10, and is playing Thursday through Saturday for the next three weeks, is a family comedy that starts with familiar cliches and a seemingly predictable formula, but then turns into something emotionally richer and resonate.Nick (Matt Parker) is a 29-year-old marketing executive working and living in New York. Every Sunday he heads to New Jersey for a big Italian dinner with his grandparents, from both sides of the family. Nick receives a promotion that requires him to move to Seattle, which doesn't sit well with his grandparents as he is the only family member who hasn't moved away. They hatch a plan to set him up with a young nurse named Caitlyn (Mary LaRusso). If he falls in love then he won't want to move away.
