To the editors:

It’s shameful that Lindsey Hamrick of the Humane Society of the United States  would argue that people should be treated guilty until proven innocent by having someone accused of animal mistreatment pay for the cost of care before trial.

EXCELLENT letter to the editors! Our U.S. Constitution guarantees innocent unless proven guilty. The H$U$ and other so-called "non-profits" have gathered anti-animal-use warchests from flimflammed donors, and are making addtional thousands through attacking animal enterprises and animal owners, bullying them and marginalizing them to the public and sympathetic judges and officers [typical Alinsky 'Rules for Radicals' methods]. This needs to STOP!
