TAMWORTH — The Barnstormers Theatre has announced its 90th season.

The season will open with “Young Frankenstein,” by Mel Brooks and Thomas Meehan, June 25 to July 4. From the creators of the record-breaking Broadway sensation “The Producers” comes this monstrously mad musical.

“Ken Ludwig’s Sherwood: The Adventures of Robin Hood” will be presented June 9 to 18. It’s a re-imagined and rollicking new take on the legend, featuring raucous comedy and gags galore. Packed with thrills, romance, laughter and immortal characters like Maid Marian, Little John and Friar Tuck, this brightly colored adaptation proves that Sherwood is as alive as ever.

“Once,” by Enda Walsh with music and lyrics, by Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova will be presented July 23 to Aug. 1. Based on the movie written and directed by John Carney, “Once” is a moving, captivating musical about people connecting through music. “Once” is the only show to have music that won an Academy Award, a Grammy Award, an Olivier Award and a Tony Award.

“The Secret of Chimneys,” by Agatha Christie, will be presented Aug. 6 to 15. A Barnstormers season isn’t complete without a Christie mystery. Leap into the world of murder, mystery, mayhem and even enjoy a dash of romance.

“Shear Madness,” by Paul Portner and producer-adaptors Marilyn Abrams and Bruce Jordan, is set for Aug. 20 to 29. This is hilarious who-dunnit that has taken venues by storm with nightly standing-room-only adventures. It’s the audience who figures out which of the zany characters did the dastardly deed.
