BARTLETT — The Red Parka Blue Sunday series will kick off a new season Sept. 8 with two of New England’s premier artists, Jon Butcher and Allen Estes at The Red Parka Steakhouse & Pub on Route 302 in Glen from 5:30 to 9 p.m.

Grammy-nominated guitarist Butcher is one of a select handful of influential recording artists who emerged from the legendary music scene in Boston and Cambridge in the late 1970s and early 1980s. MTV videos, hit songs and incendiary live performances comprise the underpinnings of a rich music career that continues today.

His signature sound features powerful soul-infused vocals, and his guitar work reflects a skillful mix of rock, R&B, funk and soul and jazz all focused through a prism built from the Blues. His powerhouse performances are electrifying and playing to packed and enthusiastic venues.

Estes has lectured in songwriting and performances at the Berklee Collee of Music in Boston, and  has co-written songs with Tammy Wynette, Shania Twain, David Mallet and many more, and has opened for Bonnie Raitt, Tim McGraw, Reba McEntire and Robert Palmer. Hailing from Gloucester, Mass., Estes has been entertaining audiences in New England and beyond for decades.

“The parka is pleased to present these two extraordinary performers as part of its continuing mission to bring the Blues to the valley and, as always, there is no cover charge,” notes series co-host George O’Brien.
