JACKSON — Dominique Dodge and Vermont-based trio Triton will be presenting an evening of music and song from Scotland, Cape Breton, Brittany, France and Sweden on Friday, Sept. 6, at 7 p.m. at the Whitney Community Center in Jackson.
Dodge is an internationally recognized harper and singer from Jackson, who will be showcasing material from her upcoming album, "Cànan nan Teud (The Language of the Strings)" to be released in late September. The album features lively Gaelic dance music and traditional songs from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia.
Triton includes Jeremiah McLane (accordion and keyboard), Tim Cummings (whistles and pipes) and Alex Kehler (fiddle, nyckelharpa). They play a beguiling blend of music rooted in the songs and traditional dance repertoire of northwestern Europe, especially Brittany, France, and Sweden.
