My family and I are residents of the Kearsarge Lighting Precinct, and I recently served on the precinct’s Zoning Review Committee, looking at short-term rental regulation options. I also have previously served on a zoning board, and my day job is practicing law, in part handling land-use and zoning issues.

To date, I have intentionally not offered my personal opinion on the Kearsarge Lighting Precinct’s ongoing effort to amend and improve its regulations regarding short-term rentals because of my work on the committee — but I’d now like to share some thoughts after the meeting of Jan. 21.
