TAMWORTH — On Monday at approximately 3 p.m., New Hampshire State Police troopers Hawley Rae and Trooper Cameron Vetter responded to an incident where a bicyclist was struck by a motor vehicle in Tamworth.

The female cyclist had been traveling north on Route 41, just north of Ossipee Lake Road, when she was struck from behind by a vehicle, which the cyclist described as a silver, white or possibly gray pickup truck.

The vehicle struck the rear tire area of the bicycle, causing the cyclist and her bike to flip over. The vehicle then left the scene without stopping.

According to state police, the vehicle may have damage to the front passenger side bumper, but if there is damage, it is most likely minimal.

The cyclist suffered several minor injuries and was transported from the scene to undergo further evaluation.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact Trooper Hawley Rae of the Troop E barracks at (603) 223-8838 or (603) 323-3333.
