CONWAY — Selectmen last week seemed to enjoy answering some questions posed by a local elementary school student and posing with a drawing the child sent.

At their May 16 meeting, Conway Town Manager John Eastman told the board that a child named Sawyer in Abigail Davis' first/second grade class at Pine Tree School in Center Conway sent the board a "Flat Panda," a paper cutout along the lines of Flat Stanley, which is a character in a beloved children's book by Jeff Brown. Children often send Flat Stanleys to people who are encouraged to take selfies with them.
