The Freedom Community Club will be doing its road cleanup project on Wednesday, Oct. 25. Anyone is welcome to help. Please meet at Bobby Sue's at 10 a.m. Bags and vests will be handed out. You are encouraged to bring gloves. Any amount of time, little or large, is greatly appreciated. Let's help continue to make Freedom beautiful.

Students in grades seven to 12, mark your calendars for Friday, Oct. 27, at 5 p.m. for the next Teen Night. There's been a murder in Freedom Village, and the body was found on the shores of Loon Lake. Did Mrs. Rhymer do it in the library with the bookends? Did Dr. Tung do it at the Town Offices with a tax bill? Find out when we play Freedom Village Clue — all the great detective work of the classic board game set in the quaint village of Freedom. Can you solve the mystery before the next victim appears? After the game, we will be watching "Spiderman: Homecoming." Pizza is $4 per person.

Parsonsfield Seminary invites you to the 11th annual "The Haunting" on Oct. 27 and 28 The cost is $14 for general admission and $5 for ages 12 and under. The seminary closed in 1949 but they didn't all leave. Traverse the historic 42-room building plus walk out basement. Meet the former residents as they refuse to pass on. Come join in the scary fun from 6:30 to 9 p.m. The Snack Shack will be available. The seminary is located on Route 160S at Parsonsfield, Maine.

The book club will be discussing "The One In A Million Boy," the One Book One Valley selection, on Monday, Oct. 30, at 10:30 a.m. in the library. All are welcome to join in the discussion.

With the warm temps and beautiful foliage, it's hard to believe that Freedom Rings in the Holidays is just around the corner. If you would like to participate this year, email Bonnie Burroughs at blb03836@gmail.com. The dates will be Nov. 17, 18, and 19. The deadline for signing up to participate is Nov. 3. If you have not participated before and have questions, just contact Bonnie for details.

Italian wedding soup, Mary Ann Hogan and Nov. 4 are all coming together for the Freedom Village Store. On that Saturday morning at the Freedom Village Store, Mary Ann will be serving her most delicious soup, the comfort food for all. Reservations are not needed but recommended, because the soup does sell out fast.
