Join in on May 4 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Calumet Conference Center for the annual women’s retreat. This year’s theme is “Women. Water. Wisdom.” Bring a small stone. The cost is $15 for lunch.

Jenny Waterhouse, who recently led a well-attended henna tattoo workshop at the Freedom Public library, is returning to lead a beach stone painting workshop on Tuesday, May 21, at 6:30 p.m.

This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Library. Come learn the fun of painting mandalas, scenery or your own personal design on beautiful, smooth beach stones from Mexico. Paint pens and bright acrylics make your designs pop. Also, if you choose, Waterhouse will show you how to bring healing intent into your stone. Once dried, these beautiful stones can then spend the summer in your garden or inside your home. Class size in limited and preregistration is required so call the library at (603) 539-5176 to sign up.

Longtime Freedom summer resident, Bud Morrow of Cushing Corner Road recently passed away. Bud was our neighbor for many years and was a well-liked member of the Freedom summer community. He had many friends in Freedom and will be missed. Our thoughts are with Mark, Kathleen and Will. A service will be held at a later date.

Lisa Wheeler can be contacted at wheelersinfreedom@roadrunner.com.
