CONWAY — The Mt. Washington Valley Dolphins received $1,500 from the Zeb’s Charitable Fund.

The Dolphins are a Special Olympics swim team that serves the Mount Washington Valley. The team practices at Purity Springs pool most Sunday afternoons from October to June with a season-ending swim meet in June at the University of New Hampshire that includes summer games with athletes from all over New Hampshire.

The Dolphins have grown to over 20 athletes and eight coaches plus program volunteers. The team has been in operation since 2000.

“We are thrilled to receive the generous support of the Zeb’s Fund,” commented Head Coach Amanda Allard. “This kind of financial assistance makes a huge difference to help with the many costs of our program, and most especially, the upcoming competition at UNH in June when we have to stay several nights in Durham, N.H.”

“The mission of our fund is to help kids in the valley,” stated David Peterson, co-owner of Zeb’s General Store. “This is a good fit for our charitable fund and particularly so in that this non profit is supported by the hard work by so many volunteers.”
