October brings about a sense of change in the air: cool breezes, falling leaves, breathtaking scenery, and Halloween. It seems like an ideal time for the Conway Public Library to host presenters like Sara Moore, a popular local psychic medium who works with clients all over the world.
Moore claims to communicate with people and pets, both living and deceased. In a gallery style, full-moon event on Wednesday, Oct. 24 at 6 p.m., Moore will convey messages to audience members from their loved ones on the other side. Whether you are a believer in psychic abilities or a little skeptical, this free event will certainly not be boring. Moore’s events usually sell out and seats are limited. Register to attend by calling (603) 447-5552. To find out more about Moore, go to enlightenedhorizons.com.
Halloween might bring out the creepy side in you. Don’t forget to mark your calendars for the library’s “Frankentoys” program on Friday, Oct. 26, at 3:30 p.m. Kids over the age of 8 will take toys apart and reconfigure them to create strange characters. It can be very entertaining to fasten a Barbie doll head on a dinosaur body with a monkey tail and Mickey Mouse ears, and you can do that at the Conway Public Library.
Toy donations are still being accepted to contribute to this program, and as a bonus you have a reason to get motivated to clean out your toy boxes and closets.
The library has a wide selection of creepy, suspenseful, witchy, horrifying and monster-themed books for all ages and interests. Come in and browse a fun display or ask where to find the Halloween books that are right for you.
If you have little people in your life, do a monster stomp over to the library for Halloween-themed story times. They are taking place every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 10:30 a.m. for the rest of October. Dixie Lea’s kids’ yoga sessions take place directly following at 11 a.m.
