Rosemary Stimans of Albany, died unexpectedly on January 5, 2020.
She was born February 6, 1968, in North Conway, N.H., the daughter of Harold and Maxine Stimans. She grew up in Fryeburg where she attended and graduated from the Academy. She lived much of her life in Conway and Albany, except for 11 years when she lived in West Virginia and Tennessee.
She was a sincere, caring, thoughtful, and kind-hearted person. She was a dreamer, but also a realistic problem solver and would help anyone in need. She once said that what would make her happiest would be to have a large kitchen where she could cook for people who were hungry. She loved to dance, especially to country music. She loved her cats, Mama and Lil Wayne. She was a great cook, known for her lasagna. She loved to watch movies, cooking shows, and travel adventures, and was a fan of Chaos and Kindness. She was very inspired by Roy Small of Laconia, who she followed on Facebook and had hoped to meet.
You may have seen her over the years, hard at work at McSherry’s Nursery, Bill’s Place Restaurant, or Fresh Start, where she enjoyed meeting people and serving the public.
She was a dedicated mother to Michael Stimans and the beloved life partner of Mike Heighe, with whom she shared 31 years together. She enjoyed watching Mike create ice sculptures for her each winter, and gardens for her in the spring. She had been looking forward to the arrival of her first grandchild this year and was excited about being a grandmother.
Rosemary was a true friend to many and will be missed by all who loved her.
She is survived by siblings James and Mary Stimans, her son Michael Stimans and her devoted life partner Mike Heighe.
