Peggy M. Thurston, 76, of Stow, Maine, passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2020, at her home with her husband by her side.

She was born in Fryeburg, Maine, on Sept. 18, 1943, the daughter of Malcolm and Virginia Littlefield Cole. She graduated from Fryeburg Academy.

On Aug. 10, 1979, she married William Thurston. Peggy was a cook for MSAD 72 and owned and operated a cake business. She was an avid reader, enjoyed hand work, gardening and loved to cook.

She is survived by her husband of Stow; two sisters Beverly Jacobs of Orlando, Fla., and Christine Carone of Stow; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was predeceased by a brother Bruce Cole.

Graveside services will be held at Hillside Cemetery in Stow later in the year. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Arrangements are under the care of Wood Funeral Home, 9 Warren St. in Fryeburg.
