Harriet Priscilla (Clevette) Goodwin

She was born in Caribou, Maine on June 4, 1923, on her grandparents farm, the only daughter of Hope (Kelley) McLaughlin and Henry Clevette. She was predeceased by her husband Bernard C. Goodwin.

She attended schools in Millinocket, Maine, graduated from Mattanawcook Academy in Lincoln, Maine, in 1940 and from Bangor Maine School of Commerce now known as Husson University. Harriet retired from Owens-Illinois, Inc. formerly known as Old Town Pulp Products, Inc. of Old Town, Maine. In 1995, she moved to North Conway, N.H., where she worked for 10 years at the Our Lady of the Mountains Catholic Church.

Harriet was actively involved in many church and community organizations, serving as financial secretary and choir member of the Congregational Church in Milford, Maine, and president of the Old Town Woman's Club and the Woman's Club of North Conway.

She was a member of the First Church of Christ Congregational in North Conway and active on the Mission Committee. She was a member and past matron of both the Katahdin Chapter, OES of Old Town and Pythagorean Chapter No. 169 of Fryeburg, Maine. She served the Grand Chapter of Maine in many ways, as District Deputy Grand Matron, President, Grand Representative and Grand Chaplain.

Harriet loved to cook and shared many recipes with family and friends. Sewing took up much of her spare time, even in her last days. She lovingly shared her quilts with family, friends, and sent many items to active military personnel.

She is survived by her sons, David Goodwin of Hollis, Maine; and Dale and his wife, Pat, of Tamworth, N.H.; grandson Ron Goodwin and his wife, Linda, of Lebanon, N.H.; her greatest love, her four great-grandchildren, Maria, Ana, Josie and Angelo; and nephew, George Goodwin and his wife, Nancy, of Nashua as well as many dear friends.

A special thank you to the Mountain View Community staff who provided excellent care and friendship during her stay.
