CONWAY — White Mountain Community Health Center will be offering a pajama giveaway for children at area libraries during story times throughout December. Families with children who need warm winter pajamas are encouraged to attend.

The first pajama giveaway will be at Chocorua Library’s Christmas party from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7. There will also be a raffle, free food, carolers, crafts and Santa Claus.

The story times will be at Conway Public Library at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 10; Madison Library at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 11; Cook Memorial Library in Tamworth at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 17; and Jackson Public Library at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 19.

At each story time, Community Health Worker Soyla Hernandez or Social Worker Cheryl Frankowski will offer free pajamas for children sized preemie through size 14. Hernandez and Frankowski will also visit the kindergarten and first-grade classes at the Jackson Grammar School on Dec. 18 to deliver free pajamas.

The pajamas are provided by Carter’s Supports Pajama Program and are also available at children’s pediatric appointments for health center patients. All children (and adults) are welcome at the health center, which has a sliding fee scale for uninsured patients or those with deductibles, and accepts private insurance, Medicaid and Medicare.
