GLEN — To mark 25 years in the community, Mt. Washington Valley Habitat For Humanity is holding a gala celebration Nov. 2 at the brand-new Living Shores Aquarium located at Story Land in Glen.

The Mt. Washington Valley Habitat for Humanity is an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a global, non-profit operated on Christian principles that seeks to put God’s love into action by building homes, communities and hope.

“Sea Your Way Home” is the theme of the fundraising gala. It will feature a live auction event with hearty hors d’oeuvres, delicious food stations, cash bar and a one-of-a-kind experience.

It will highlight Habitat’s contribution to the valley while showcasing New England’s newest hands-on experience in discovering the wonders of the ocean year-round.

According to says Dick Ficke, MWV Habitat for Humanity president: “We are thrilled to be celebrating 25 years with our first annual fundraising gala. We look forward to this being a staple event as we plan for the next 25 years.”

The event will honor Habitat’s founders; feature a live auction; give participants opportunity to build the next house; display construction history; and present family testimonials. Attendees can mingle with Habitat volunteers in an atmosphere of background live music and abundant food and drink.  Souvenir photographs will provide memories of the celebratory event. Funds raised will assist in land acquisition and house construction cost reduction in a real estate market where safe and affordable housing is becoming even scarcer.
