GORHAM — A Vermont man was arrested and charged with an attempted armed robbery at McDonald’s restaurant Friday morning.
Patrick Bolio, 31, was found later that day at Jericho State Park and taken into custody on multiple counts by both Gorham and Berlin police.
Gorham Police Chief Adam Marsh said police were called shortly before 7 a.m. with a report that someone had pointed a rifle at a clerk in the drive-thru and demanded money.
Marsh said the individual had placed an order and then continued through the drive-thru in a white SUV with out-of-state plates.
Coming up to the window wearing a mask, he pointed the rifle and demanded money.
When the clerk backed away from the window, March said the individual drove off without any money and headed north on Main Street.
N.H. Forest Ranger Jason Huter discovered the unoccupied SUV at Jericho State Park and notified police. Authorities determined the SUV had been stolen. Bolio was taken into custody on park property.
Gorham police have charged Bolio with one felony count of attempted armed robbery and one misdemeanor count of receiving stolen property.
Berlin police have charged Bolio with one felony count of receiving stolen property and one misdemeanor count of criminal trespass.
State police also assisted in the investigation.
