Obituary: Laurent E. Houle

Laurent E. Houle passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, Sept. 1, 2019. He was 91 years old.

Born in Berlin, N.H., on Feb. 14, 1928, he was the son of William and Mary (Laroche) Houle.

He served in Korea with the Army. Following his service he returned to Berlin and worked as a wood room operator for James River Corp.

Laurent was married to Therese Lapointe and together they raised three sons. He enjoyed going fishing, playing cards and going for walks. He most enjoyed his time with family and friends.

Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife Therese (Lapointe); a son Marcel Houle; brothers Archie, Emile and Wilfred Houle; and sisters Alice Perreault and Irene Aubut.

He leaves behind two sons, Norman Houle of Burlington, Vt., and Lucien Houle of Berlin, N.H.; grandson, Eric Houle of Berlin; two great-grandsons Jason and Justin Houle; a great-great grandson Carter Houle; brothers Henry and Richard Houle; sister Laurette Poulin, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held prior to the Chapel Service on Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2019, from 9-10 a.m. at Fleury-Patry Funeral Home at 72 High St. in Berlin, NH.

A Chapel Service will follow at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
