Nationally Recognized Zen Master in Bethel on July 10th

"Zen on the Trail: Hiking as Pilgrimage" by Christopher Ives explores the broad question of how to be outside in a meditative way.

BETHEL, Maine — Zen is a school of Mahayana Buddhism, but for many, the term forms an image of practices that can bring a sense of calm to our daily lives.

Join Christopher Ives, professor of Religious Studies at Stonehill College and author of "Zen on the Trail: Hiking as Pilgrimage" on a trail walk on Wednesday, July 10, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at Valentine Farm, 162 North Road in Bethel.

On the trail walk, he will explore several simple meditative practices that can help you walk in nature more mindfully, pay greater attention to what is happening around you, appreciate beauty more vividly, and realize a deeper connection to nature.

Refreshments and an opportunity to buy the Zen on the Trail will be available after the walk. Participation is limited to 25.

This event is free, but registration is required. To register go to mahoosuc.org/events-calendar or contact Barbara at barbara@mahoosuc.org, or (207) 824-3806.
