Tele-Talk: Do you agree with the Conway School Board’s recent decision concerning unused space at Kennett Middle School?

On June 26, the Conway School Board refused to revisit leasing an unused wing at Kennett Middle School to Robert Frost Charter School despite lobbying by the state education commissioner and the $64,666 it costs per year to maintain the mothballed space. Reasons for the 3-3 stalemate included the belief the commissioner was meddling in local affairs; the desire to keep leasing options open for other groups; and the need for public and charter schools to maintain a “healthy separation.”
