TELE-TALK: Do you agree with creating just one winter/spring school vacation in March?

TELE-TALK: After SAU 9 School Superintendent Kevin Richard announced the scrapping of the blizzard bag concept — where students do pre-packaged assignments at home so the district can avoid tacking a snow day onto the school year — Conway School Board members agreed with him it was a failure. Board member Mark Hounsell suggested eliminating February and April vacation weeks instead, leaving just one winter/spring vacation in March. This would also allow the school year to end prior to the third week in June, when classrooms without air conditioning have been unbearable some years.
