Massa and Drew headline six All State baseball Eagles

6-18-nick-massa-and-josh-drew---lisa-eastwoodCONWAY — Six members of the Kennett High baseball team — representing the entire Eagles' infield —have garnered Division II All State recognition.

Junior pitcher Nick Massa was selected to All State First Team while senior catcher Josh Drew was chosen to All State Second Team; senior first baseman Scott Conner was tabbed for All State Third Team; and seniors third baseman Sean Perley, shortstop Alex Milford and second baseman Austin Weber were named to the All State Honorable Mention squad.

Drew was also chosen to represent New Hampshire in the annual Senior Games against Maine at the University of Southern Maine in Gorham June 18. A pair of doubleheaders were scheduled to be played between the two states. Results were not known as of press time.

Massa was named tom play in the 2012 New Hampshire Junior Game scheduled for this Saturday at At. Anselm's College in Manchester with a doubleheader beginning at 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. The top 36 junior players were chosen to play in two nine inning games. Over 30 colleges have committed to attending the games.

Last month retiring head coach Bob Burns, the winningest coach in New Hampshire schoolboy baseball (511-312) was selected as the Division II Coach of the Year.
