Leah Kelsch: Thanks to Olga Morrill, Janice Minshull for inspiring kids

“Sit down, it’s story time, we’re gonna have some fun...” For a great many families with young children, this song marks the beginning of story time with Olga Morrill.

It is incredibly disheartening to know that she will no longer be at the library. From the magic bag to Old McDonald’s Farm; Olga has sang to, read to and entertained children for years.

Always helpful with great suggestions, Olga has always been an integral part of our library experience. For a long time, my children thought Olga lived at the library!

As my children grew, we also enjoyed story time with Janice.  Touch the Truck day and the fun crafts that she came up with have always been a big hit.

I wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you to them both. You have greatly inspired a love of reading in my family and countless other families as well. For me, that is the mark of a great librarian.
