Fireworks help ring in 2013

CONWAY — Fireworks in North Conway and Madison will help ring in the New Year in Mount Washington Valley.
King Pine Ski Area (367-8896) invites families to a New Year's Eve of night skiing and riding from 4 to 9 p.m., outdoor music and games, a bonfire, ice skating, family fun racing, with a torchlight parade at 9 p.m. (meet at Polar Bear chair base at 8:55 p.m. to pick up glow sticks; participants must be able to ski intermediate trail), followed by fireworks at 9:30 p.m.
Also on Dec. 31, the Town of Conway, the North Conway Water Precinct, the Mount Washington Valley Preservation Association, PainCare and other area business partners will present a fireworks display in North Conway Village at 9:30 p.m. The fireworks will be best viewed from North Conway's Schouler Park.

Shawnee Peak (207-647-8444) in Bridgton, Maine, is presenting a New Year's Eve bash, featuring the band, Kids of Play, Dec. 31.
The Omni Mount Washington Resort (278-1000) at Bretton Woods hosts a New Year's celebration Dec. 31 with fine cuisine, music and libations.
