Suspicious fire damages Joe Jones

CONWAY — Fire officials are investigating what is being considered a suspicious fire at Joe Jones Ski and Sports on Main Street in North Conway Wednesday night.
North Conway fire chief Pat Preece said the fire started outside the building, on the southeast corner between Joe Jones and the toy store, and spread inside, burning through wires and flooding the Joe Jones showroom with smoke.
Nobody was injured.
Firefighters were toned out at about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, and Preece said the fire was mostly contained by about 8:30.
Joe Jones was the only building affected by the fire. Preece said structural damage was "minor."
The
state fire marshal is expected to arrive on the scene at about 9 a.m. Thursday.As of now, it is unclear whether there was intent to set fire to Joe Jones.
