Police warn of fraudulent fund raiser

CONWAY — Police are warning people to beware of con artists looking to make a profit off the death of police chief Michael Maloney and the other officers wounded in the Greenland shooting last week.
Officials are warning a fraudulent fund raiser has been circulating following the incident last Friday.
"There are reports that residents are receiving phone calls from individuals claiming to be with a benevolent/law enforcement group seeking to raise funds to assist the families of chief Maloney and the four officers injured in the Greenland shootings," Conway Police Department said in a press release. "The public is warned that there are no active fund raiser for the victims of the Greenland shootings."
Officials are urging anyone who has been contacted by someone seeking funds to call the Conway Police Department at (603) 356-5715.
