Character breakfasts return to Theater in the Wood Sept. 22
Published Date
INTERVALE — The Believe in Books Literacy Foundation continues its Character Breakfast series with Clifford the Big Red Dog on Saturday, Sept. 22 at 9:30 a.m. at the Theater in the Wood in Intervale. The series runs Saturday mornings from Sept. 22 through Oct. 20.
Each week a guest reader will read storybook character stories to the families in attendance. After the reading, a larger-than-life storybook character will be available for children to meet and greet with a hug or a high five; bringing a camera is recommended.
Everyone is encouraged to bring a gently used book for the weekly book swap. A continental breakfast is available prior to the reading. The character breakfasts are an exceptional way for families to spend a Saturday morning together. The cost is $5 per person, children 3 and under are free.
Following the reading each week, a local business or organization will be on hand to engage the kids in an interactive activity. Following the program, guests are encouraged to explore the Storybook Trail that will feature a story that corresponds with the storybook character of the week. Access to the Storybook Trail is included in the cost of the character breakfast.
The fall Character Breakfast schedule is as follows:
Sept. 22: Clifford and Sharon Novak from Mountain Top Music.
Sept. 29: Winnie the Pooh and Michele from Sherman Farm.
Oct. 6: Eeyore and Ewv from 121Fit.
Oct. 13: Tigger and Michele Cruz from the Mount Washington Observatory.
Oct. 20: Piglet and Nora Dufilho from Tin Mountain.
